Naomi Woyengu

Naomi Woengu graduated with an honours degree in Political Science and pursued her passion to advocate for Human Rights, Women’s Leadership, Sexual Reproductive Health and Gender Based Violence, rather than building a career. Currently, she is heading an amazing young women’s program called “Rise Up” at the YWCA of Papua New Guinea as the National Young Women’s Coordinator. In her line of work and on a daily basis, she continues to see and hear stories of how the tide of women’s issues in the country as well as in the world, competes with growing distorted images that depict women. This platform will bring to light experiences and challenges of women from her country and region, as well as her own to initiate a dialogue of positive awareness and empowerment for all women and girls across the world.
